Children are naturally mindful, exploring the world with curiousity and with all of their senses. When we foster this gift, and follow their lead, we can grow in so many ways together. When we become curious and mindful with our children, we nurture their ability to focus, promote their cognitive development, and allow them to create meaningful connections with themselves and others. Check this out...

We get the same benefits! Taking time out of our day to focus on our senses, rather than our to-do-lists and stressors, gives our minds a needed break and strengthens them at the same time. This, ultimately, allows us to accomplish more while feeling more organized and calm.

Schedule some mindful play into your day: explore the sounds of a musical instrument, the tastes and textures of your food, the feel of playdoh, the smell of flowers, the movement of a bug, the colors in a crayon box, the sound of the rain... When you go for a walk with your child, identify the different and amazing sounds, sights, and smells you encounter.

Stay present, allowing yourself to let all of your other thoughts go. Enjoy the moment and approach it like your child - with curiosity and excitement! They are soooo smart, aren't they?

Most of all, have fun!!!
